Dear Roxanne,
I am in the process of starting a company. I have a partner and between the two of us we have the initial capital. In the event we wanted to get aide where is the best place for us to search. There seems to be a lot of organizations or claims but I am running into a deadlock. Can you please advise? All I see are ads but not the right starting point or guidance.
Sincerely,
Theresa
Dear Theresa,
Great question. The best place to seek aid is your local Small Business Administration because they have a whole group that works with women's loans. You can get more data at http://www.sba.gov .
A second idea is to talk to friends and ask them who they know locally that successfully built their own business. If you get some names, call them. Explain that you are seeking guidance and had heard from a friend about their success. Then simply ask if they might have just five minutes to give you some direction on where to go. It's amazing how many virtual strangers will help when approached in that manner and you may just get great advice and an introduction to someone that can aid you financially.
Wishing you great success,
Roxanne

Best New Book For Entrepreneurs
This is my one of the best books I've read all year...heck in the last three years! It's great because it's written by an entrepreneur who saw the light. After all, what are you working for other than to fund the lifestyle you want?
Timothy Ferris covers in depth ways that you can work less and make more or at least enjoy what you have. His book is called The Four Hour Work Week. I posted it below if you'd like to take a look. If you'd prefer that I don't get credit if you decide to buy it then just go to Amazon directly. Either way, this a great read and I'd highly recomend it!
You won't be able to put it down. It's eye opening!
